Giving Tuesday 2019 was a huge success; the ¹ú²úÈý¼¶Æ¬community came together to fund more Coup de Pouce stipends than we imagined. Each gift will help send a deserving student on the trip of a lifetime as part of AUP’s Cultural Program.
The #OneMoreJourney campaign began with a €2,000 matching challenge from the New York President’s Alumni Advisory Council and several other New York alumni. Later in the day, President Celeste Schenck offered a boost with a €4,000 matching challenge to build further support. The community responded with great generosity and helped the campaign advance far beyond its €10,000 target.
At the end of Giving Tuesday, ¹ú²úÈý¼¶Æ¬Board of Trustees Chairman Raymond F. Henze III and his wife Susanne, also ¹ú²úÈý¼¶Æ¬parents, were inspired to make a gift to take us to a total of €31,175. All told, we raised more than three times our original goal, allowing us to sponsor approximately 125 stipends for ¹ú²úÈý¼¶Æ¬students who otherwise might not be able to afford to participate in a Cultural Program study trip.
To discover the impact of our community’s generosity, take a look at our Giving Tuesday webpage; you’ll find insightful stories and videos from all parts of our community. The Cultural Program is a vital part of an ¹ú²úÈý¼¶Æ¬education. Study trips that lead students on educational journeys across the globe leave a lasting impression, helping global explorers become lifelong learners.
