A visit to North Africa’s best-preserved historic city, Fès, during the annual Festival of Soufi Culture. Once upon a time a city at the heart of Islamic intellectual life, it is still home to numerous historic crafts. Students will visit medieval colleges and the library of the great Qaraouiyine Mosque. There will also be a side excursion to the ancient Roman site of Volubilis and the country town of Moulay Idriss. Opportunities to go to concerts at the music festival are included.
