The Center for Critical Democracy Studies cordially invites you to Professor聽Philip Golub鈥檚 talk at the annunal conference on聽Frontiers of Freedom聽held by the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory of Belgrade this Thursday, December 3, organized by聽.
Throughout 2021, the CCDS will be hosting and co-sponsoring a series of lectures, workshops, roundtables and readings that looks at how we may build political and social solidarity within, beyond and below the nation in order to confront today鈥檚 essential challenges 鈥 be it climate change, racial injustice or radical inequality.聽
Philip Golub is Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the American University of Paris (AUP). He previously taught at the Institute of European Studies of the University of Paris 8 and at the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (IEP). He regularly lectures in numerous research centres and universities, including the University of Bologna and the University of Lausanne. Anchored in the historical sociology of international relations, his research work focuses on the state, globalisation and contemporary international history. His publications include聽East Asia's Reemergence (Polity Press, Cambridge and New York, 2016) and Power, Profit and Prestige: a History of American Imperial Expansion (Pluto Press, London, 2010) (published in France by 脡ditions le Seuil under the title Une autre histoire de la puissance am茅ricaine). He collaborates with the monthly magazine聽Le monde diplomatique, for which he was editorial advisor between 1999 and 2013.
