With a focus on urban planning processes and business development strategies, this tour听will include two of the most sustainable capital cities in the world, Oslo and Copenhagen,听as well as a trip to Vaxjo, Sweden, a smaller city that has made a commitment to green听policies and practices. Students will meet with government and business representatives听to learn how the two sectors have worked together to make sustainability a priority.听Site visits will allow firsthand knowledge about successful private and public projects,听especially ones that use innovative approaches to address social and environmental听challenges. Throughout the tour, students will gain an understanding of the varying stages听of implementing sustainability and how these elements have become cornerstones of听European urban and economic development.
